Bios

Margaret Schell began her career in New York in the early nineties working first as a magazine editor before becoming a fashion publicist and runway producer. She has represented and produced fashion shows for such designers as Badgley Mischka, Norma Kamali and Vivienne Tam among others.

Throughout her career Margaret has exercised her keen ability for creating movements and trends in fashion pr bringing significant attention to her clients. Among her most notable achievements is being the first to cast artist Rachel Feinstein on the runway for designer Gemma Kahng years before becoming Marc Jacobs’ muse and a darling of Vogue. She has been acknowledged in several books about fashion including historian Valerie Steele’s ”China Chic: East Meets West” and she has placed several items in museums around the world including The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Victoria & Albert in London and the Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh, PA.

Upon relocating from New York to Los Angeles, Margaret partnered with Publicist Sara Stein to form S.PR and create the first official Los Angeles Fashion Week. Thousands of media placements, hundreds of events and many, many celebrities later, Margaret continues to excel in her career as fashion publicist.

Sara Stein began her career in Los Angeles working as an Assistant Agent at Writers & Artists agency from where Hollywood entertainment powerhouses Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer recruited her. After Paramount Pictures and Disney Studios, Sara then went on to pursue her interests in fashion and communications with designer Carole Little, producing runway shows and promotions for the 700 million dollar company.

Sara has represented many Los Angeles designer brands and is credited for putting some of today’s most notable talents on the map including Magda Berliner, Jasmin Shokrian and Erica Courtney among others. Her many strong relationships with the media has enabled her to build a portfolio of extremely significant placements from the covers of Vogue and Oprah to WWD and theWall Street Journal. Sara’s relationships have even resulted in the formation of new fashion brands such as the case when she introduced designer Michael Colovos to editor Nicole Garrett who later married and launched Habitualbefore taking over Helmut Lang.

After forming S.PR with publicist Margaret Schell and creating the first official Los Angeles Fashion Week, Sara continues to bring significant global awareness to the brands she represents today.
